Welcome aboard ‘RMIT Cyber s37’.

Thank you for your patience and attention. It’s time to get you ready for takeoff. Before you depart, here are some important cybersafety instructions.

First things first, insert your cyber-belt, by disconnecting your automatic wifi. Open your wifi settings and hit disconnect.

Prepare for unfriendly internet users by purchasing an international travel sim. This will protect your devices whilst giving you the freedom to use the web.

If you cannot purchase an international sim, check the eduroam map to find secure, global roaming wireless networks.

Now, please review your cyber safety card and before you know you’ll be off.

1: Never install anything to your device from an untrusted network

2: Keep your firewall enabled

3: Keep your electronic devices in a safe place when not in use

4: Set up a self password reset

5: Restrict airdrop settings

6: Restrict software updates

Now under your seats are your anti-virus protectors. Download to prevent any unwanted damage.

The crew are  now coming around to do a final cyber check. And if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to consult the tips and tricks section from the RMIT’s travel cyber app. As always, we’re here to make your trip safe, as safety is our main concern. We hope you enjoy your flight, and thank you for choosing to stay cyber safe.

For further engagement, we have created an inflight cyber video that will be included under the module section on the Canvas app as well as sent out to all staff through emails. Being inspired by airlines’ inflight safety videos, our cyber version will sum up the precautions that staff must know and do before departure.
